NICE SHOT
trophies for competitions in shooting from small caliber rifles
silvered glass
2016
During the design process I gave myself the goal of finding a simple shape, that would be easy and efficient to make. At the same time I wanted the object to have easily recognized symbolism. The technique of silvering isn't purposeless and holds the symbolism of a shiny gun shell, typical for the shooting of rifles. I sense the shell as a case that carries strength, the strength to set a shot in motion, as a protector of energy, concentration and precision. The gun shell within itself is a big symbol of the act of shooting. My design is a collection of three trophies, different from each other by color of the metal and by the sandblasted numbers indicating the scale of winners. The shape is a perfect compromise between an easy to make object and and an object with esthetic qualities. The decoration of the trophy with numbers helps to clearly identify each piece.
