Study of el. bracelet for the blind
2013
This study of electric bracelets began as a vision of the near future in the field of aid for the blind. This electric bracelet should help blind people with orientation, navigation during journeys throughout unknown places, diverting them from obstacles and potential danger. This is all possible with the help of sensors, that are in the removable part of the bracelet. One can clip this part to their clothes with the help of a clip found on the bracelet. The sensor evaluates the space in front of the pedestrian and sends the information to the bracelet which then vibrates either at the ring at top or at the bottom and navigates the pedestrian. The sensor can be placed back into the bracelet when not used. The bracelet also contains a microphone for easier voice control and route planning, a speaker with a button for an easier navigation through the menu of the device. The bottom ring contains a battery which can be replaced or recharged. The bracelet is put on with the help of nanosurfaces that cling together.
